Designed by Marvin Ferguson in 1975, Lone Star Golf Club offers golfers of all skill levels a number of challenges. Although the course layout may appear flat in terrain, subtle breaks in the greens and an abundance of trees will test even the best players.

Formerly known as Cielo Vista Golf Course, the renamed and remodeled Lone Star Golf Club has all the best features. Seven new tee boxes and two new greens added in 2002-2004 will make you think twice about this being the “easy” course in town.

Lone Star Golf Club offers a wide variety of Professional services including our fully stocked Proshop (with discount store prices), lessons for all types and levels of players from PGA MEMBER PROFESSIONALS, the Sandtrap full service restaurant, special Tournament services, and even an on course beverage cart.

THE TEACHERS

With a fully lighted driving range, putting and chipping greens, you can practice your game even after the sun goes down. Target greens on the range will help you learn accuracy while our two putting greens can provide the area needed for you and your friends to have the last minute 18-hole putt-off.

Bill has been helping golfers for the past 40+ years. He has been named one of the top 100 teachers in the state of Texas and has helped many aspiring golfers find their way the the PGA tour, including Lee Trevino. Bill vast experience and extensive knowledge of the golf swing will help anyone play to the best of their ability.

MICHAEL SINGLETON
PGA PROFESSIONAL - HEAD GOLF PROFESSIONAL
While managing the day to day operations of the golf course, Michael stills finds the time to helps students of all ages. Michael, our Junior teaching expert, redesigned the Junior Golf Academy at Lone Star Golf Club and has made it the most copied Junior lesson format in the city of El Paso, attracting more than 100 yearly. In his 15 years of working at Lone Star, he has developed many junior players into the best in the City.

JERE PELLETIER
PGA PROFESSIONAL - ASSISTANT GOLF PROFESSIONAL - UTEP WOMENS GOLF COACH
Jere is one of our busier teachers, as he is also the Head coach of the UTEP Women’s Golf team. He has improved team ranking every year with his dedication to the game. Specializing in teaching all types of players, Jere has quickly become the “teacher to go to” whenever a player wants to lower their handicap.

MARC PONCE
PGA APPRENTICE-ASSISTANT GOLF PROFESSIONAL
The newest addition to our teaching staff, Marc is quickly learning to help players to stop their "bad habits." Although just now working his way through the PGA Apprentice program, Marc has already begun teaching our junior in the Lone Star Junior Golf Academy. Already becoming one of our more popular teachers, Marc has a promising future as a teacher and professional.
